Our Approach
Our approach to biblical counseling is Christ-centered, Biblically faithful, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We offer compassionate, personalized care that ministers to the whole person—body and soul—while remaining trauma-aware, relationally focused, research-informed, and humbly committed to ongoing growth. Our goal is to help each counselee grow in Christlikeness, deepen their dependence on the Lord, and walk with hope through life’s challenges.
1
Christ-Centered
We believe that Jesus Christ is the ultimate Counselor and Healer. Therefore, we intentionally place Him at the center of the counseling process. The person and ministry of Jesus offer comfort, hope, and instruction—not only for present circumstances but for eternity. Our primary goal is for the counselee to be molded more into the image of Christ through our time together.
2
Biblically Faithful
We believe the Bible to be the sufficient, authoritative, inspired, and infallible Word of God. The Bible—correctly understood, rightly applied, and appropriately ministered—is foundational to our approach. It reveals the heart and character of God and gives us a true understanding of ourselves in response. We strive to view all things through the lens of Scripture and aim to strengthen the counselee's understanding of and relationship with God’s Word. We regularly turn to the guidance and methodology of Scripture in a faithful, constructive, and grace-filled way.
3
Holy Spirit Empowered
We recognize that apart from the Holy Spirit’s divine enablement, we are helpless in our efforts to come alongside the counselee. Without the conviction, comfort, and equipping of the Holy Spirit moving through the Gospel in the heart of the counselee, nothing we offer will have a lasting impact. For this reason, we seek to encourage greater awareness of and dependence on the Holy Spirit’s work through the Word in the counselee’s life.
4
Relationally Focused
We acknowledge that every counselee has been fearfully, wonderfully, and uniquely made in the image of God, and is therefore deserving of compassionate, personalized care. We recognize that counselees possess valuable insight into their own struggles—insight we seek to thoughtfully draw out. We affirm the importance of a healthy community and the vital role of the Church in the counselee’s life. Aware of the complexities that come with relationships between imperfect people, we seek to help counselees navigate these concerns in a God-honoring way. We endeavor to graciously and patiently come alongside each counselee in a way that values connection, models the care of Christ, and reflects how we ourselves would desire to be treated.
5
Holistically Driven
We believe that human beings are divinely created as embodied souls, with the body and soul intricately connected and impacting one another. We acknowledge that the fall affected every part of our humanity and the Lord models care that ministers to the whole person without neglecting our deepest need: a relationship with Him. We strive to come alongside counselees in a way that values their health and holiness. Because human beings are multifaceted, we value a collaborative, team-based approach—bringing together counselors, pastors, other professionals, and supportive community members—to best serve the counselee through unified, Gospel-centered care.
6
Trauma Aware
We acknowledge that in a sin-cursed world many counselees come with complex histories impacted by trauma. We recognize that this can make trusting a counselor, engaging with Scripture and other aspects of the counseling process more difficult. In response, we strive to model the care of Christ through the Word and Spirit—drawing near to those who suffer in a way that is gentle, compassionate, and long-suffering, exemplifying both grace and truth.
7
Humbly Approached
The Bible identifies, and we acknowledge, our deep and daily need for Christ. As biblical counselors, we never outgrow our need for the very counsel we give. Aware of our own limitations and the weight of this sacred work, we aim to counsel with humility, transparency, and accountability. When we fall short, we welcome feedback and seek forgiveness and repentance where needed. We recognize the Gospel’s call to ongoing learning, and we know we cannot lead a counselee to a place we ourselves are unwilling to let God’s light shine. For this reason, we are committed to continual growth and education, that we might first be continually transformed and, in turn, offer care that is faithful to Christ and truly helpful to those we serve.
8
Research Informed
While Scripture remains our ultimate authority, we also value insights from psychological and physiological research when they align with Biblical truth. In such cases, we carefully and prayerfully utilize helpful, evidence-based practices with discernment and humility.
We affirm both the Biblical Counseling Coalition’s Doctrinal Statement and Confessional Statement.
Our Beliefs

“Brooke knows what makes a good confidant, counselor and friend. She knows how to listen and ask good questions. She meets you with empathy and then equips you with truth. Brooke is a person who can see the mess and feel the weight of its reality while simultaneously believing in and pushing toward the healing that always comes with Christ. She does her due diligence to learn before she counsels/teaches. In fact, she goes above and beyond in her studying because she’s unwilling to offer anything less than her best to everyone she serves.”
